Marcel Granollers is my favourite player besides Del Potro , he may love clay more but he does have good results in his career on hard also and he has a good record to prove it 105/74. He is in top form , loosing only to Murray , Haas , Brands in his last 12 matches. On the other hand Ram lost 7 out of the last 10 matches , against players like Przsyezny , Kern , Donskoy who are way worse than Granollers. He has a solid record on hard , 255/225 , but that is mainly because he played a lot of challengers in his career. He has never been in the 2nd round in the US Open and this is his best result ever , and he is 29 years old. I don't see a chance of him winning here , maybe taking a set because Granollers has a tendency to have intervals in his game , but nothing more.
Mikhail , why to bet on Mikhail , firstly because he is in great form , he lost just to Raonic and Murray in last 10 matches , he won against Mahut easily inspite of us thinking that Mahut's serve could hurt him , he leads 2-1 in H2H and the one match he lost he lost it 6-1 6-7 5-7 so it was really a close match which he should of won. He has 144/113 in his career on hard and has two semifinals here at US Open. On the other hand Dolgopolov is not in such good form this year , he fell a lot in rankings , in last 10 matches he has lost to Bedene , Dev Varman , Harrison , not so good players , he is a lot better player on clay than on hard , on hard he has just 64/53 and 7/12 this season. He didn't have any spectacular results here , only 4round once.
Ivo Karlovic ! The Giant from the Shalat. He has been in a great form since he came back from his pause which he had to take because of sickness , he won Bogota , he managed to catch the 2-0 lead of Blake and he is for sure very confident , he has 171/130 on hard and after grass it is his favourite surface , he has a massive serve , a good forehand and he loves to play slice. Wawrinka on the other hand is a lot better clay player , he did preety easily against Stepanek what surprised me , but I don't see him winning 3:0 in this match , maybe even winning at all. They have 3 H2H matches , Karlovic won once 2-0 and Wawrinka won twice 2-1 and 3-2 , so Karlovic won at least one set in all matches....see more
